Although the official start of Spring is still a month away, it’s lovely to see signs that the countryside is waking up even now. The warm, wet winter and the lack of any severe frosts and extremely cold days (at least in Hampshire) has seen daffodils in flower before Christmas, blossom revealing itself early and green buds swelling and even bursting in some hedges.
This post includes some more wonderful spring-inspired photographs from Emma Davies (emmadaviesphotography.com) from our recent shoot in The Long Barn, Hampshire. The winter sun on the day provides a perfect backlight to the iridescent foliage and casts wonderful shadows.
Mixed with these shots are others of the Hampshire countryside around The Long Barn illustrating the most amazing colours and textures present at this time of the year.
