The modern architecture of this new house on the beach in West Sussex required an equally strong, dynamic garden. The owners wanted to retain the view of the sea but needed somewhere to sit where some privacy was possible and shelter could be given from the south westerly winds.

The garden utilises the same materials and colours as the house and offers horizontal shapes to balance the strong vertical presence of the house. Vertical form in the garden is offered by Pines that give architectural structure and sculptural definition.
